Workers Compensation

The New Jersey Workers Compensation Act creates a remedy where workers who are injured on the job, regardless of fault, are entitled to medical treatment and compensation for temporary disability and permanent disability.

Workers Compensation is an exclusive remedy, which means an injured worker may not sue his or her employer in a civil action.  The only remedy against the employer is through Workers Compensation.

Cases are heard by Judges of Workers Compensation in Workers Compensation Courts, which are part of the Department of Labor, in various locations throughout the State.
